First Day

My stomach churned as I thought of the first semester. It felt like a cold splash of water was thrown at my face, a frantic scramble to stay afloat, and an overwhelming feeling of being utterly lost in the sea of code. The first semester, a blur of caffeine, advanced programming, and complex algorithms was finally over. Was I really ready for round two? Doubt was getting to me. Then suddenly, the familiar chime of an online portal echoed. But instead of excitement, a knot tightened in my chest. A new semester begins: another challenge.

Still, I wonder if I’m truly ready. Remembering the first day, the thrill of new possibilities, a clean slate waiting to be written upon, was instantly shattered, filled with half-finished projects and unanswered questions. The weight of expectations quietly presses down, each assignment a reminder of my inadequacies. Am I really good enough? Can I compete in this ever-evolving field? Fueled by caffeine and the desperate need to catch up, the doubts whispered loudly in those quiet hours, as if threatening to drown me in the sea of uncertainty. But then, a stride of hope appeared.

A breakthrough in those challenging times, a shared laughter with friends struggling with the same problem. A professor’s encouraging words are truly a reminder that I am not alone in this journey. Moments of connection, of shared understanding, cut through the darkness, like the moon in the night sky. And as I stare at the series of codes on my screen, the fear begins to recede, quietly replaced by my determination. I may not have all the answers, but I have the willingness to learn, the resilience to keep going, and the strength to face the challenges ahead. With the second semester, a new beginning emerges, a chance to showcase what I’ve learned, to grow, to evolve, and become who I aspire to be, an IT professional.
