Foxstack Productions from the School of Computing (SoC) secured the Gintû Distinction, the highest award at the PeliCuliat Film Festival 2026 on February 7 at the AC Information Center Library Theater, marking the third win for their film, Dukit.

PeliCuliat Film Festival is a Kapampangan film festival hosted by the JCI Angeles City Culiat, in partnership with the Angeles City Tourism Office (ACTO), created as a space where Kapampangan filmmakers can feature their films in celebration of National Arts Month. The event showcased five competing and four non-competing films, including four competing and two non-competing entries by Angelites.

Leading the competing category, Dukit, which was directed by Maria Angelica Sabay a BS Entertainment and Multimedia Computing Student, won the GINTÛ distinction, followed by the Mikit Kata Qng Libutad by Lance Simon, a Non-Angelite film, with PÌLAK distinction, and the TANGSÛ distinction to BA Communication student Kisha Santiago’s Magdalena.

Earning multiple accolades, Dukit also won the Silver Distinction in the Pelikula Category of Gawad Digmaang Rosas organized by The Angelite and the Champion title for the PAMANA: Short Film Competition as part of the Youth Development Days (YDD) celebration, where the film also won Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Actor.

Dukit follows the story of Lenlen, portrayed by Abygale Santos, a first-year Web Development student, who comes from a lower-middle-class Mandudukit family, a part of her which she tries to hide from her friends. Her life then takes a sudden turn when her father, played by Gian Tolibas, a former School of Computing faculty staff member, suffers a stroke, leaving the family financially struggling. Lenlen then applies for a student assistant scholarship, a responsibility she once criticized, as a way to help her family. As she balances caring for her father and taking on new obligations, Lenlen is forced to confront her habit of keeping everything to herself.

Aside from the major awardees, the PeliCuliat film festival also honored the technical aspect of each film with special awards. Dalumdum, directed by Sophia Dimabuyu, a BA Communication student, was awarded with the Best Screenplay and Best Sound Design. Magdalena was also awarded the Best Cinematography and Best Production Design. Mikit Kata Qnd Libutad also earned Best Editing. While BA Communication students, Elain Vergara from Magdalena, and Austin Apolan from 3Cycle, directed by Samantha Zamora, won Best Performance.

The Kapampangan film scene continues to grow, as Kapampangan filmmakers are shown in the spotlight, creating more diversity in the industry. Just like Foxstack Productions, despite not specializing in film production like their peers, they are able to create their path in the competitive industry.
