Holy Angel University’s UDAYS, themed “Byahe: Kasabay sa Tagumpay” held a showcase of musical talents as one of its highlights, with Armonya: Battle of the Bands event taking prominence on February 22, 2024, at HAU Piazza.

The spotlight focused on the School of Computing department’s band “The Irregulars” which took the stage, consisting of Lowell Jireh Changtengco, Calvin La Madrid, Elyanna Marie Gonzales, Alex Andhrei Indiongco, Jann Sebastian Visperas, Louise Fernando Salonga, and John Dave De Jesus. Despite the suspense of the band’s performance, the atmosphere remained subdued as the audience showed support for their respective departmental connections.

The Irregulars delivered a lively performance, with partnered covers of “First Date” by Blink 182 and “Settled” by The Ransom Collective. However, the crowd’s response was mild, which reflected the subdued atmosphere of the whole event.

Armonya: Battle of the Bands was judged by industry professionals, including singer and songwriter, Shane Lumanog. Experienced Drummer in Indie, Rock, and Hardcore genres, Wel Wel Calilung. Two-time best keyboardist HAU Battle of the Bands, Harvs Bondoc. Freelance Sessionist, Lester Alfaro. Finally, professional drummer, graduate of Michael Alba Drum Program Modules, 1 & 2, Judz Elevera.

Despite the lackluster audience response to the event, Armonya: Battle of the Bands provided a platform for vocalists and musicians to present their musical talents and skills. The Irregulars, representing the School of Computing Department, portrayed their musical flair amidst a modest atmosphere. As a final note on the entire event, participants and organizers alike looked forward with optimism, excited for future opportunities to celebrate and showcase talent at Holy Angel University’s University days, “Byahe: Kasabay sa Tagumpay.”
