Loud cheers and enthusiastic support for their respective candidates filled the area as the search for Mr. and Ms. HAU 2024 unfolded. Anticipation and excitement permeated the air as they struck their poses on stage.
Candidates from different departments of HAU unleashed their charms as they ramped across the stage of the Chapel Piazza on February 21, 2024, for the pre-pageant and February 23, 2024, for the coronation night with the theme, “KINAIYA: Mr. and Ms. HAU 2024”.
For the pre-pageant segment, the candidates presented themselves with their advocacy followed by their meticulously crafted cape and creative wear, reflecting their dedication and hard work. The cape designs of our Mr. and Ms. SOC centered around their advocacies, they also incorporated the department’s representative animal, the fox, in both designs. Isaiah Mercado, Mr. SOC, advocates for self-empowerment, whereas Regine Keely, Ms. SOC, focuses on promoting responsible pet ownership and adoption.
For the creative wear, both highlighted the theme of the UDays, the mini jeepneys on their costume showcased “Biyaheng SOC” with a focal design of orange and fox. Micah Lapuz, the point person for Mr. and Ms. SOC, remarked, “Despite time constraints, we successfully completed the creative wear, including crafting the jeepney props and wings, in less than a day, thanks to the assistance of the Mafia Organization, Alpha Foxes, and volunteers.”
As the highly anticipated coronation night unfolds, the audience marvels at each department’s casual and formal wear, as well as the nerve-wracking Q&A portion. Special awards were announced one by one, with Mr. SOC winning both the Mr. Photogenic and Mr. Congeniality awards.
Unfortunately, Mr. and Ms. SOC were not selected as the finalists. Nevertheless, they succeeded in winning our hearts and making their fellow foxes proud. As the competition draws to a close, Mr. SNAMS and Ms. SBA are crowned as Mr. and Ms. Holy Angel University 2024. The runners-up are as follows:
