Yesterday, February 24, the Multimedia Aficionados For Interested Artists (MAFIA) held its first day of Aniraya 2025: Quest For Brilliance at St. Joseph Hall (SJH) Academic Hall.

Aniraya is an annual event of the MAFIA filled with competitions, forums, and bazaars.

This year, MAFIA invited game studios, EMC seniors, and EMC Alumni to share their experiences and insights in the multimedia and game industry.

The students were surprised by a video message from Former Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino. Aquino emphasized his support for the Philippine game industry and EMC students interested in game development careers.

Ms. Thea Morisson from RLUX Studio gave an engaging talk and Q&A session about game development and opportunities for EMC students in the game industry.

Papan Games, a 4th-year student-led game development group, introduced their game titled Quick, Quack! With the collaboration of Rlux Games, the team developed the game on the Nintendo Switch platform.

Three EMC Alumni, Francine Martinez, Loren Jean Escober, and John Silva, were present at the event to share their experiences and knowledge in the industry.

The first day of Aniraya concluded by announcing the winners from respective competitions:

Harmonia: Beat making Competition
Champion – Ethan Mangampo

Perpetua: Looping Animation
Champion – GRYNarts
1st Runner up – Isabella Barcebal
2nd Runner up – Arabella Aralar

Trail Ablaze: Trailer Competition
Champion – Hiraya
1st Runner up – Last Minute Production
2nd Runner up – Team Chat Production

The 2nd day of Aniraya will be held at Plaza San Jose tomorrow, February 26, featuring student-led bazaars.
