After a 3-year Pandemic, the HAU-University Student Council hosted its first face-to-face, MATENAKAN: Pamanuli King Indung Sisuan, last September 14, 2023. Matenakan is a University-wide competition advocating for the youth to value Kapampangan culture and showcase their talent and creativity to express their appreciation. Throughout the event, students from different departments promote cultural appreciation of Kapampangan heritage through short films (Amlat), poster making (Gulis), cultural dance (Indac), speech choir (Koro), and singing (Sigla).

AMLAT: Pamagbalik para king Masalang Paintulungan is a short film competition that aims to inspire and promote cultural appreciation of the Kapampangan heritage. The participants gave their best in acting and creativity to cherish and express their love for the Kapampangan Culture. Short film entries gave a lot of mixed emotions and thrill to the viewers who witnessed the magnificent works of each department. The School of Computing (SoC) amazed the audience with the usage of special effects, and a captivating love story gave students excitement.

The event was filled with creative minds as the participants in GULIS: Alaya ning Obrang Kapampangan, a poster-making competition, exhibited their artistic ideas for making a masterpiece by incorporating significant Kapampangan culture and events.  Haziel Dizon and Glen Garcia Pasamonte, the representatives from the SoC, created an artwork based on the rebirth of the culture and history of Kapampangan. The artwork features historical symbolism and tackles the experience and hopes of the Kapampangan. Throughout the event, Dizon and Pasamonte are happy as they give their best to represent the School of Computing.

While INDAC: Pamisasametung Da Ring Mibasa gave an astonishing cultural dance with a resemblance to the past and simplicity of Kapampangan culture. The performers wore traditional Kapampangan vibrant and cheerful outfits and gave a rural and festive vibe.

The event also includes a speech choir,  KORO: Culala Da Ring Siuala, where representatives from various departments performed outstanding acts by expressing their message about social and cultural issues through their voices and creative acts.

No event is truly complete without the melodic singing contest (SIGLA: Casampatan Ning Musika). The competition made the event even warmer and spectacular as the contestants gave their all singing well-known Kapampangan songs.

At the end of the event, the School of Computing (SoC) reigned as the 1st runner-up of AMLAT: Pamagbalik para king Masalang Paintulungan. The entry of SoC was packed with visual effects and a reminiscence of the Kapampangan mythology of Aring Sinukuan to the story.
