In the tunes of trumpets and trombones, whistles of flutes, and the blaring beats of hammered drums filling the air as little angels take their steps on the roads of Holy Angel University (HAU), another section of the campus was also orchestrating their magic to deliver them on cloud nine.

Headed by the HAU-Office of the Community Extension Services (HAU-OCES) in alliance with various student organizations— The Access Point, Valiant Esports, student committees of School of Computing and School of Arts and Sciences, Google Developer Student Clubs, Red Cross Youth, Apl de Ap, and the Association Radiologic Technology Students forged a booth to place children and parents in bliss and exuberance on October 2, at San Jose Plaza in the occurrence of the celebration for the Feast of the Holy Guardian Angels.

As the hands of the clock halted at eleven in the morning, it marked the beginning of a wondrous day for everyone present at the event. The School of Computing College Student Council broke the ice by facilitating classic Filipino games bringing laughter and exhilaration to the participants. Followed by a striking performance from Apl de Ap that swooned the guests over. And yet another activity from the School of Arts and Sciences College Student Council where kids formed groups and interacted with one another to accomplish the task.

“Because it is Fiestang Angge or HAU Fiesta, naisip namin na aside from the mass or the novena, mayroon tayong pinaka-event which are activities for the pupils and parents, food for the CCS president and the Kapatad Market.” Head of the Office of Community Extension Services, Shirley Mae Marcos shared.

“Itong Kapatad Market kasi, nagco-conduct tayo every month or every other month to help the Aetas, communities, and the … makapag assist para sa construction of the parish which is the youngest parish under the Arch Diocese of the San Fernando. And mayroon din tayong … because it is fiesta … and kaya ganoon siya kasi gusto natin na masaya ang preparation ng diocese natin.” She added.

Invited are the pupils and parents of the partnered school, Abelardo G. Tinio.

“Hoping that this activity will showcase the essence of HAU kasi nga Angelites or Guardian Angels, and for a day makatulong tayo sa isang community.” Finally, Ms. Marcos stated the objective of the event.

HAU continues to strive to enrich not only the environment within the reach of their hands but also to establish and bring out the golden hearts of every student and staff under the institution to be a part of fulfilling others’ boundless dreams.

Feast of the Holy Guardian Angels is not just a moment for costumes, processions, and masses to commemorate the University’s patron saint but is also to be filled with shared bright eyes, warm laughter, and a grateful soul brought by generosity and compassion that delivered fresh experiences to be cherished for a lifetime.
