Last October 11, The Multimedia Aficionados For Interested Artists (MAFIA) conducted a ‘How do we…?’ workshop for its members, the aficionados, at the Saint Joseph Hall building (SJH). The event aims to relearn the basics and gain tips and advice from the Upperclassmen. The workshop has two categories: traditional art and digital art. 

Jhong Gonzales and Nicole Santos, two 3rd-year Entertainment Multimedia Computing (EMC) students, mentored a digital art workshop at SJH-601. The session began with the introduction of Adobe Photoshop to the attendees. Gonzales and Santos discussed different tools and coloring techniques and gave practical drawing exercises. Throughout the event, the participants described it as an exciting and fun experience.

At the same time, a traditional art workshop was hosted by Mackenzie Regaspi, a 2nd year EMC student, at SJH-607. The workshop began with a calming atmosphere and a refreshing overview of traditional art. Unlike the digital workshop, the session focuses more on practicing and polishing drawing foundations by making basic geometric shapes. Regaspi supervised the attendees to check their progress and gave advice to improve their skills and outputs. The workshop concluded with a drawing of a human figure using basic shapes and the attendees appreciated the informative lessons and drawing exercise provided by MAFIA.
